My New RealiTV 'Boyfriend' (take 2)

As you know, Robert and I are regular viewers of Bravo's Make Me A Supermodel and every season there is one episode that is better than the rest - the naked episode. Last year's was pretty good, but the contestants had to be made up into the four elements and Perry just was NOT as hot with his junk shaved and tucked, you know what I mean?

Anyway, this season's naked episode was MUCH better!! I haven't seen it yet (Robert is somewhat reluctant to watch the naked episodes for some unknown reason...) but I did fast-forward to my boyfriend's photo shoot and was not disappointed. :o) Me liked. Who is my boyfriend? Jonathan. He's British, he's ripped and he's LOVERLY! Plus, he's a winner so he's definitely making it to the finals. I think I may be kicking Ronnie to the curb for this one...

Haaaaaaaaaaargh. :cP Yummers.

Random Round-Up 18

OH!!!! Am I good or am I good? Remember when I posted my thoughts on the possible-at-the-time-but-now-confirmed roster of 'stars' for the upcoming season of DWTS? And remember when I said, re: the selection of Ted McGinley, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Does ABC really the patron saint of Jump the Shark on one of their most popular programs?!" Hmmmmm????

Well, lookee here - TVGuide.com has a post up today titled "Is Dancing Shark-Proof? JumptheShark.com's "Patron Saint" Joins Cast."

Of course no one, myself included, truly believes that Ted can bring down the juggernaut that is DWTS... but I am a little impressed at my own prescience in commenting on Ted's 'shark'-ness before TV Guide. :o) Yay me.

My old boyfriend Ronnie Kroell got a job!!! He's the cover boy for Instinct magazine's September issue. Granted, it's not the best photo of Ronnie but it is good to see that he's still doing stuff here and there. :o)

Blargh!!! My Ronnie. Mew.

Well, that really chaps my ass - Ronnie lost and Holly won. BLARGH!!!! Me no likey. My only glimmer of happiness stems from the fact that my boyfriend was #2... if only I'd had access to another phone line! Dang. :o( I will post more on this tomorrow to be sure but just in case you were waiting for the results of Make Me A Supermodel with baited breath, there's your answer. Stupid, whiny, boring, annoying Holly won. And I am depressed.

UPDATE: So, here's the general round-up of recaps of last night's episode:

And so, the season of hot men is over. I hate when shows that I like end - where will I go for my weekly man model fix?! I guess there's always YouTube... *sigh* (Though, I will say that the finale had a shocking lack of skin, which was sort of a bummer. Go out with a bang, I say. Clearly, no one asked me.)

I, of course, had to see who won before I watched the finale and so I suppose you could say I viewed it with a tainted eye. I hate Holly! I must grudgingly admit, however, that she is a good choice for the win. She definitely wants it, has really been working toward becoming a model for a while now, has done exceedingly well in most challenges and certainly looks like a runway model. Whatevs.

I think out of the final four, both Holly and Ronnie were the contestants that really had the most "model" drive; they have really worked toward becoming a model for some time and both demonstrated the most passion for the business. Perry (who I was surprised to find in last place) wanted to win but I think would be just as happy being the center of attention in any medium. Ben sort of rode Ronnie's coattails into the finale, I think, thanks to all the hype over his potential love affair with Ronnie. True, their little "flirtation" also benefited Ronnie* (and I would not at all be surprised to learn that they sat down before the competition started to work out a plan that would invest viewers in their journey) BUT I still think Ronnie was someone honestly interested in learning how to become a better model through the experience. And I find him hot so... yeah, that counts for something, too! :o) Holly's fiance is hot but (a) that's not enough to negate the annoying-ness of her teeny, tiny, squeaky, whiny voice and the 4 to 1 ratio of "like"s to actual words; and (b) he was never shirtless so major loss of points there.

All in all, I suppose I'll survive Ronnie's disappointment. He was in the bottom many more times than Holly, and I guess that has to count against him a little. Bleh. Plus, as I mentioned in an earlier post - and as Tyson reinforced - I think all the finalists have a fantastic shot at snagging an agency and cultivating successful modeling careers (should they choose to pursue it, of course). I don't know about Tyson's obsession with Ronnie working in a Target campaign; he trotted that out ad nauseum in a piece in Entertainment Weekly yesterday and I don't know why Tyson felt he needed to beat it into our heads. We get it - you don't think he's edgy or 'high fashion' and as such is no second coming of Tyson. Now go away! I don't care for whom or what Ronnie models... as long as it's done with as little clothing as possible. :o)

* Just like Perry's whole "is-my-girlfriend-dating-Britney's-man-du-jour" drama benefited him. It sure gave him a whole lot of air time, no? And a good chance to show his 'range of emotions' - no one else shouted "WHORE!" with such vigor. If you believe the Ronnie/Ben scenario (no, I will not call it a 'bromance' and you can't make me!) was staged then you must admit that Perry's emotional turmoil was manufactured, too. [The best example of this occurred when Tyson showed Perry the tabloid story about Amanda: "We usually try to keep this stuff from you guys but... HERE!"] Oh, and Ben is totally getting a divorce. You should have heard Robert's cackle at Ben's face when he hugged his wife for the first time after 3 months - my left ear is still ringing. Ben clearly wasn't as excited to see April as she was to see him (his face looked something like a deer in the headlights... that would rather be hit by the car than hug this woman) and I don't think they'll be together forever. This experience has clearly made Ben think he can do better with his life - and he also clearly thinks that the first step starts with man whoring it up. I give it 2 months.

Ronnie or Perry

One of Robert's friends suggested that I post something on the blog re: my "Supermodel" boyfriend Ronnie so I could wrangle up some votes for the final installment. Unfortunately, the voting channels are only open for a few hours after the end of each episode; as such, even if I posted something right after the show, most people wouldn't see it in time to really do anything about it. :o( But don't worry - I voted for Ronnie enough times for several of you, too. :o) I am a bit bummed, what with this past week being the last week of competition. I am going to miss my hot men in my living room every Thursday night! *sigh* But, it was an excellent way to say goodbye - this episode was chock-a-block full of some naked men hotness...whew! Robert was not too happy with all my drooling this week, I must admit. All I can say is I never see ads for jobs like "male model body oiler" or "male model underpant cutter-offer." What is the deal with that?! I would be awesome at that job!!!! Hmph.

And, I have to say, as much as Perry is a complete ass, his hotness has increased exponentially as his hair has grown out!! I am still rooting for Ronnie, of course - I'm no Fickle Fanny! - but if Perry wins, I won't exactly be crying in my milk. He is a jerk to be sure but he's also a very good model, I think. (Plus, I assume this will be an American Idol-sort of thing - everyone left standing at the end has a good shot at being picked up by an agency). Holly is a very good model, too, and has an excellent chance of winning but, oh boy, her voice makes me want to drive pencils into my ears. Not only is the tone of her voice horrific but her sentence structure is severely lacking in coherence. And if I had a dollar for every time she said "Like..." in an episode, I'd have quit working months ago. Ronnie is very hot without being a dick to everyone else, (though his ego does seem to be growing as time goes by, which is too bad), so I have to put my full support behind him. I know he's been in the bottom a few times, but the judges have mentioned time and time again how much he has improved and I really do think he's a pretty good model. True, he's a bit dull... but, again, I don't want to date the man. I just want him to sit naked in a chair while I watch TV! :o) Anyhoo, this post is ruining my whole "no more hot men posts" resolution so I will leave you with a couple of humorous recaps of last week's episode:

Hot Men? Yes Please!

I know I said in yesterday's post that I may be posting more article text alongside links but I was wrong. That sucker was a bitch to format - gah!!! Me no likey. Plus, it was 400 pages long, and no one wants to read a post that looks like it's going to take your entire lunch hour to read. So, unless I think Robert really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really wants to read something, I'm not going to post a lot of text... ever again.

----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----

Now - on to the random stuff we love so much! I am totally into Bravo's Make Me A Supermodel these days. I didn't watch it when it first started but one of my work friends chatted with me about it and it sounded hot. Half-naked men getting their asses shaved for a thong?! Count me in!! ;o) Actually, we really could have seen a lot more ass pre- or post-shaving (and, later, waxing) because it's not what's being done to the ass that looks good. It's the ass. Der. Anyway, the men on the show are FINE, except Casey who's kind of...scrawny. No muscle definition = no interest, dig? I don't want big, giant, grotesque muscles but if I can't tell the difference between you and the flat-chested female models, you are so not for me. (There are female contestants, by the way, but it appears as though the majority of viewers are women and gay men, because the girls are dropping like flies. The judges have finally picked up on this and keep making them safe so that us viewers have to part with a hot bod whether we want to or not. Sucks!!) Ben is totally still on the show only because the viewers want to see if he (a straight, married prison guard from Tennessee) will actually ever hook up with Ronnie (who has been very open about his affection for Ben...and Ben has been pretty darn receptive up until the last couple weeks. Needless to say, I don't think he'll be comfortable going back to Tennessee as a prison guard after the show). And Frankie was horrific but he's gone now so yay. I do feel bad that he had to cut his Fabio hair into a Taylor Hanson/Richie Sambora man-bouffant just to get kicked off but better him than my Ronnie. Whoo! He seems like a nice guy and his body...sorry, I spaced out there for a minute. Where was I? I don't care that he's gay - I don't want to marry him, I just want to look at him!!! Naked. Ah, good times. But I digress. Perry is hot, too, and definitely improving as his hair grows out but he's just so damn cocky (if you'll pardon the expression) that I kind of want him to lose just to knock him down a bit. Besides, he's obviously talented; I think he'll do fine in the business even if he doesn't win. In fact, Tyson waxed rhapsodic about Perry in the last challenge on his Bravo blog:

I feel like we’ll get more out of Perry. He could really this all the way into stardom. I think 10 years down the line, Perry is going to be like me. He’s going to go into acting, he’s going to be a great actor, we’re going to love the movies that he’s in, and we’re going to say, “This kid came from Make Me a Supermodel.”

I started off acting before I got into modeling. I just never got that role, so a friend of mine recommended I try modeling for a while, and I was like, “This acting thing isn’t working out, I’ll try modeling now.” I jumped into it, and the next thing you know, I started working. I’ve gotten to the point now where I get scripts sent to me, and I can go on auditions and do well at them and impress people enough to get a callback.

So, since he's clearly just as awesome as Tyson (what movies was he in? Oh yeah - he had that star-making turn as "Man/Prisoner" in 2002's Gully), Perry - you're gonna be a STAR!!!!! ;o)

After reading Tyson's inspiring life story, I stumbled across a link to the blog on Bravo's "little sister site" OutzoneTV.com. Waaaaay more entertaining than anything the actual judges have to say, trust me! So, if you're a fan of the show like me, you might want to check it out:

Sample excerpt:

Okay, so we've been watching our comrades over at Bravotv.com slave away at the website for "Make Me a Supermodel," and we decided the time has come that we share our own particular OUTzone spin on this. There's just too much gay. We thought it last week, and then we saw this week's episode. We can go through all the "this show is gayer than a..." jokes, but we really just hope that you'll fill in that blank yourself. This show is gayer than two dudes holding hands while they're getting their asses waxed. Oh. Wait. That actually happens.
