Oh no. My brain hurts. I hate the box office!!! Just because a movie made a zillion dollars does not necessarily mean it's a good movie! (It also doesn't mean it's a bad move, you know.) More often than not, as far as franchises are concerned, a sequel's total haul is more a reflection of the quality of the previous film(s). For example: Spider-man 2 was awesome so Spider-man 3 made buckets of cash. Spider-man 3 sucked. A lot. Just about everyone thought so. But, Spider-man 4, 5, 6... are all in the pipeline because we, as an audience, sucked and made Spider-man 3 tons of moola. It's a vicious cycle.A cycle which has sucked Indiana Jones into is swirling vortex of crap. According to TunaFlix,

After Kingdom of the Crystal Skull disappointed fans but still earned over $750 million worldwide, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the gang is thinking of getting together for a fifth time - but hopefully it’s with the intention of washing the bad taste out of our mouths rather than continuing to
boldlystupidly go where no Indiana Jones movie had gone before. Said Ford:“It’s automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it’s not surprising that some people want to do it again.”
Some people? Or George Lucas? Personally I’m okay with Indy 5, as long as we don’t get another half-baked idea from a clearly out-of-touch Lucas. Unfortunately, these days that’s easier said than done.
