Another Regretsy Treasure
-----
Hold on, let me get a pen.
Got it.
I would like to ask what that means, but it may not be Monday, or within the 3 day period, so maybe
I’ll just write it down in my notebook.
Wait a minute, are you asking me questions now? Because that’s not what I signed up for. Plus it
hasn’t been 3 days.
So theoretically, you could not check in on me for 6 days, and then all day Sunday you’re up my ass, looking at my items and my ideals? I’m starting to feel a little pressered.
Yeah, okay we get it, you’re the one with the ideals. You don’t have to rub it in, oh look at me, I have
ideals all day, I need a notebook. We’ve established already you’re the one with the ideals about the
items. That’s why you’re getting the 19.99, and I’m just waiting until Monday so I can ask a question.
Do you take Paypal?

Regretsy
The most recent target for online funning is handicraft marketplace Etsy Inc. The company’s motto is “Your place to buy & sell things handmade.” However, Regretsy.com has decided to give that motto a twist. “Handmade? It looks like you made it with your feet,” the site prominently displays under its banner. (Caution: Some of the items and the language on the Regretsy site are pretty graphic.)
Etsy Spokesman Adam Brown said the two sites were so similar at first that Etsy had to ask for Regretsy to redesign its site and add a disclaimer that the two aren’t affiliated.
Regretsy chooses actual items listed on Etsy and applies a little comedic commentary. The folks at Regretsy definitely deserve some thanks for highlighting this “Fish in a Squirrel Suit Taxidermy.”
Tongue firmly planted in cheek, the site also addresses the fact that they’re belittling some people’s livelihoods: “Yes, we know these people put their hearts into it. We know it took hours and hours. We know how mean it is to laugh at their creations. And we regret being the only Web site on the Internet that makes fun of things.
“But what can we do? We’re immature.”
Etsy itself also has something to say on that issue.
“For the individual sellers, they may not be so flattered, but if it brings more traffic to the shop and helps make sales then all the better,” Brown said.
Wait. Could it be that these parody sites are actually good for start-ups?
“Listen, if you like something you see here, don’t argue with us, go and buy it,” the Regretsy site says. “Seriously. Click on any photo and you’ll be taken to the seller’s store. We’re only too glad to have made the introduction.”
It seems that Regretsy could actually boost the exposure of the items on Etsy, and in turn helps drive the start-up’s revenue.
That is, if there’s really a buyer out there for a “Goat Coat.”
As I sit and wait for someone to escort an angry student from my area - fun! - I thought I'd post a few of my favorites. And yes, most of the funniest ones are, erm, a bit [im]mature so apologies in advance if any offend. ;o)

You know what else is a perfectly natural bodily function? Explosive diarrhea after eating bad clams. But I don’t see anyone memorializing that on upcycled fake wood paneling.
Although, I could be using the wrong keywords.
[I just think this one is so very strange. Who ARE these people?!]

When I get hot and sweaty, I like to grab a bottle of room temperature water with a knit sweater on it. And if it’s got a big, hairy, woolen vagina on it, so much the better! Talk about refreshment!

Poor Pebbles. She was such a nice girl. Then she started dancing at the Spearmint Triceratops and everything went to hell.
[This one cracked me up with the reference to the Spearmint Triceratops. We would always joke about the Spearmint Rhino when we lived in L.A.!]

Get, up, turn around, look in the toilet and compare your turd to the product they just sold you. If only everyone had that kind of honesty.
