Granted, the person in question didn't use the word "assy" and I do not, by admission, spend a lot of time on my hair. But, you know, I do wash, comb and blow-dry (with a round brush!) it regularly so it can't look that bad. Sheesh. Actually, what happened was this: Yesterday, I was generally frustrated with my hair - I desperately need my bangs trimmed - so I pulled half of it back in a clip. I still combed it for crying out loud and made sure there were no lumps or bumps. But as soon as Coworker X walked in, s/he said "In a hurry this morning, were you?" Which I let slide at the time because whatever. I'm at work - who do I have to look good for?! I am a put-together person at work; I always wear makeup, jewelry and professional clothing. But compared to the dandruff-haired, flip-flop footed, same-brown-jersey-capri-pants-for-four-days-in-a-row wearing, elbow-patched bunch of ragamuffins I work with, I'm downright glamorous!!! I guess Coworker X doesn't see things that way.
So, today s/he wanders in, points to my hair (it's down today... whooooo) and says "That's better." To which I replied "You're mean!" Then Coworker X said "Did you like your hair yesterday? Mm hmm. You could at least pull a brush through it - you can borrow my comb if you want." I tried to make the case that, unlike certain coworkers I could mention, at least I don't have a visible and odoriferous cloud following me around a la Pig Pen but s/he wasn't going for it. So I just let it go. Mew for me. :o(
I will try and cheer myself up by gazing at this photo of Colin Firth on the set of Dorian Gray...
