Melanie's Birthday(ish)

Last Friday night, I needed to drop my car off for an oil change. Rather than drop the dog off at my parents' house, Robert and I decided to keep the ball rolling on Garfunkel's 'alone time' (which he still gets every morning) and leave him in the house while we were gone. It was only a 30-minute trip; he'd be fine.

Or not. Garfunkel breaks out of his pen every single day before my dad arrives but he's never peed or chewed on anything he's not supposed to. That all changed on Friday. Look at what he did! He ran pee rings around our coffee table!!! And that was the only damage, too. It wasn't like there was a trail here or there or anything like that. Nope. He just decided to demonstrate his outrage by peeing rings - notice I said "rings", as in plural - around the table. Gah!

It took Robert a half-roll of paper towels to sop it up. Experiment? Failed.

On a happier note, the next night we got together with Melanie, Wade and my parents to celebrate Mel's 35th birthday. Just as last year, we celebrated with a big meal at Claim Jumper.

After which we all returned to my parents' house for a little relaxation (no Guitar Hero battles this year). Robert got a bit too relaxed and konked out about 10 minutes in. So did the dog. Do we all know how to par-tay or what?!
